|
|
Our group had a Santa battle last night. I, as Santa, went up against 2 Orion Light Raiders (I hope I recall that correctly).
Santa is 150 BPV so the opponent criteria was about 75 BPV for both Orions. Malleman and Hod K'el chose all phaser 1s for option mounts.
Both Orions basically stayed together, concentrating their fire on a single shield. I tried to keep a fresh shield at them.
Santa's 360 degree photons helped as both Orions were aiming at Santa's rear shield. It eventually came down. Santa's was trying to reach Earth to deliver his toys.
In the end, Santa scored some internals on Orion #1 and almost destroyed Orion # 2 before becoming a fireball himself.
Two points of discussion:
Santa's Sleigh had 4 frame boxes, 150 BPV and Damage Control of 6. I think the frame boxes should have been set to 6 to make the Sleigh tougher and more in line with the BPV and Damage Control Rating.
Why were Santa's main weapons set as Photons? Is it becase Santa = Earth = Federation = Photons? I would like to try three option mounts. You never know what kind of goodies Santa has in his sack. I would like to try Santa with 3 disruptors.
A final note: I dont think the PDF card for Santa's Sleigh should be listed under the category for Monsters. It should be moved to the General Category.
Anyone else do a battle with Santa's Sleigh? |

Well to be fair, in the Master Ship Chart, he's under 'Monsters and Heroes'. Which category you should put him in probably depends on your point of view _________________

And that will teach that fat Human to fool with our cartel! Giving toys away when you can sell them at inflated prices! What kind of idiot is he? Has he never heard the saying, 'There is profit in peace'? Has he not heard of profit margin? And he tried to undercut Orions on top of all that! _________________ HoD K'el

Santa will try again next year. He is swapping some toys to the Klingons for some Disruptors. |

Santa should have taken those Orions off the naughty list... permanently. Then done his deliveries. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

I take it that means his escape pod has been picked up already? _________________

Because it was fun, released at X-mas time, and SVC has a sense of humor. _________________

A better question would be...why not? It would explain how he gets those toys to all the boys and girls...think orbit and transport.
And with Santa's toy shoppe at the North Pole, it explains why we are not the ones causing global warming! _________________ HoD K'el

Would Mistletoe Launchers fired between adjacent ships cause one of them to tractor the other??? _________________ Mike

THEY KILLED SANTA?
Guess that explains why I didn't receive my lump of coal last year. _________________ "Training errors are recorded on paper. Tactical errors are etched in stone." -Erwin Rommel |

The demise of legendary figures often evokes strong responses in those that love them.
For example, my wife is a Scot but doesn't usually talk with too strong a Scottish accent. Some years ago now we were watching an episode of the Gerry Anderson series 'Stingray' with my sons, who were only young then (both grown up and married now).
In this particluar episode, for whatever arcane reason, the super-submarine 'Stingray' had been taken to Loch Ness in Scotland, where - again for whatever reason - it was attacked by the Loch Ness Monster. Gung-ho Troy Tempest, the captain of the Stingray, promptly torpedoed the sucker.
My wife's indignant response, in the strongest possible Scottish accent, was 'Nooooo! Ye cannae kill Nessie!'
O' course, we all fell about laughing
Actually, turns out it was only a robot, but I can still hear her saying that phrase..... _________________
