The new Fighters mini page looks awesome! The fighters aren't bad either
I especially like the Fed shuttle mini, even though it's not a 'fighter' in FC like it can be in SFB. _________________ "His pattern indicates two-dimensional thinking."

Yeah, that's coming right along. Eric is doing good work.
I'm really looking forward to these going live for purchase. 20+ years later, we are finally getting (really, really good) minis for SFU fighters. Very cool. _________________

They are *very* impressive, that's some inspired sculpting.
I can't see myself using them in games - they'd clutter the table and be difficult to stack in one hex - but they're too cool not to own.
Surprising just how sinister a Tholian CW looks when it's flying backwards. _________________ We are Hydrans! NO ONE LIKES US! |

Todd Boyce did them all via computer modeling and 3D-printing through his Ninja Magic outfit. He definitely did a great job.
I intend to mount them on dice-socket flight bases. One fighter mini per-grouping, with the die indicating number in the group. Same plan for the drone and plasma minis that are also coming out. _________________

I'll definitely be buying at least a pack of each - and two for the Feds (F-18s for Feds and G-18s for the Gorn) and three for the Z-Y (Klingon, Lyran, Seltorian). And that's just for starters. |

These have been an along time coming (along with the missiles).
Still love them.
Just two things:
If the pictures are in scale, aren’t the shuttle to big (compared to the fighters)?
Finally, aren’t the stand too big (personal I’ll use an operate gage wire). |

The shuttle is probably to a different-scale (as are the drones, plasma, bases, etc.).
In the case of the shuttle and fighter minis, they are probably all set up to be physically the same size minis (probably to help packaging more than anything else).
In the plastic model-kit industry, they call it "box-scale". The kit is whatever scale ends up fitting in their stock box-size the best. _________________

Targ, I think most of us are not going to use the stock stands for the fighter, drone, torp, shuttle mini's. We will keep them to use with other mini's. You never can have too many stands.
I think most will use a stand that allows use of a die to designate the number of the drone, fighter ot shuttle, etc.

I personnally like the "pin type stand, though I have experimented with others, see pic.
The fighters in the pic are ones I picked up a while ago as space fillers until ADB made their own. I am looking forward to getting the ones from ADB. |

I'm leaning towards doing a mixture. I'll probably mount some singles on mini (.5-inch base) stands and some on dice-caddy stands (pretty much as you have in your picture.
Any thing more than two in a hex will switch for a dice-stand (assuming they're in a group). The smaller stand will allow for single to have their own facing, etc.
I'm still fixated on OGRE/G.E.V's approach to infantry and "making change" - it's coloring my approach to fighter minis. _________________

Since my house is alreadyclassified as an EPA Super Fund site, I intend to do it the fun way...
Multiple packs of each of the fighter minis...
Singles mounted on 5/8" elite style stands...
Flights of two and three mounted on 1 1/4 inch hex bases...
Flights of six mounted on Mongoose publishings B5-ACTA fighter bases...
And a few extra singles mounted on Brigade Miniatures dice stands for the odd-ball situation involving other amounts of fighters in the same group!.
That should cover all the options...
Andif not... then I'll just buy more miniatures!!!! _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro
