I noticed in the update to the CRUL in comm #40 that if weapons that cannot used DT are combined with weapons that use DT in the same volley, the volleys are resolved separately. Does this mean that if my Lyran fires phasers and scores ESG damage in the same volley, that the volley is split into two for shield reinforcement purposes - the ESG damage, and (if the shield is still up) the targetted phaser fire?
Note that if this is the correct interpretation, you could use targetted phasers to ensure that the major portion of your ship's hellbores hits the same shield as the phasers. Simply fire the HBs (non-overloaded) and use directed targetting with the phasers. Resolve the phasers first, making the facing shield the weakest. Then the HB volley is resolved, and the major portion of the HB damage is resolved against the facing shield. (Dibs on the tacnote!) _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

If fired from the same ship ---
Phasers are designated as hitting first, but are in the same volley ---
Expect that Tac Note was claimed many moons ago --- |

Being a predominently hydran player that thought had also occured to me the moment I read that - no more firing phasers at longer range an impulse earlier to create a specific weak shield ready for the HB. |
