A friend is telling me that the 'K' in Kzinti is silent, like K is in knife. I always thought otherwise. Any proof one way or the other? |

I'd thought of it as a partially-held-in sneeze, but that's not appropriate in public, and it takes a lot of practice not to sound awkward going from *kz* to -inti.
Paul Franz, on the Star Fleet Online talk show, does say it as "zinti." _________________ --

The official SFU pronunciation is "Kah-Zin-Tee". _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

I have talked with Larry Niven about his Kzinti some years ago. The K definitely was not silent. I don't remember the exact pronunciation. And Steve is always right.

Well, I'm only right inside SFU, and only if Jean or Petrick don't remind me of something I forgot. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander
