Are the Jindarins going to make it into Federation Commander?

That's a good question.

It is always possible, and the rules can be made to work. So, it can always be done.

That said, the Jindarians have some serious problems in SFB. They were intended to be slow moving, heavily armored ships that offered a different approach to the fast eggshells of traditional ships. Unfortunately, what they were really (accidentally) built for was stationary starcastling. Which is a very frustrating approach to the game. With all of that, it is an open question as to how well they will translate into Federation Commander.

That all said, the most problematic empire (the Andromedans) was added to the game, so it is always possible that the Jindarians make it in. But I have not seen much drive for it, so I do not know.

My memory isn't perfect but I don't remember anyone asking for the Jindos to be ported over.

Anything can be done, but not everything. I suspect that fighters, gunboats, and X-ships would all be done before Jindos, but who knows?

Perhaps the "metal-hull" ships might make for an easier first step, with the "asteroid" ships left until later?

For what it's worth, any of the "pre-Y1" (pre-2400) hulls, of both metal and asteroid types, would be usable alongside the ships of the LMC playtest pack. (There are Jindarians in Omega also, but it's less clear as to what kind of ships they use over there..)

It might be a easier, but then there would not be anything really special about them. The whole point of the Jindos is the asteroid ships, so at least one or two would need to be included from the start, even in a CL spread.
