Oh, I am not saying no one can game with them. Just that *I* wouldn't game with them. I want a nice, detailed model that is noticeably bigger than a standard mini, but much smaller than an 18 inch model.

I admit I am a market of one. But, if that market is actually larger than one, I would love to take advantage of that!

I'm game to do the larger 2500 or even 1000 ships BUT some sculptor has to do them AND they're going to cost a fortune through Shapeways AND the sculptor has to have his other projects done (or be a new hire). I don't want to stop doing PFs halfway through to take a flyer on 1/1200 or something.

New hire would need to be able to match existing scaling and detail reviews very closely, or this would just increase my workload back up to Apollo 13-era NASA vs Dept. of Agriculture again.

I'd rather see these happen after the current project is fleshed-out and slowing down. I would like to see these happen - there are already pirate version of things like the NCL out there. There is also the large-scale starbase I started and sourced resin casters for, a couple years ago.

I do scale model kits myself (mostly 1/1000 scale now) and would be doing things like an NCL conversion, if only for my own jollies.

Regarding the 1/2500 "Cadet" series ships from Round 2, this is the Fed CA from their pre-paint versions of that line:

I definitely do not want to do anything before 2 Jan that requires Will time. Lots of things do not.

The only pre-paint model I've found in physical stores is one D-7. I hope this means they sold well. The D-7 measures four inches, a "head" longer than the Matt Jefferies comparison drawing:

The Fed CA is from the Johnny Lightning line when Racing Champions owned JL, Polar Lights, and AMT, please excuse the wrong number.

Their Romulan ship measures 2 inches long. However, their analysis of the film lead them to a ship narrower in proportion than anyone else had made.

It might be the Battle Hawk, the lower of the two SL2400 minis; file off the plasma launcher and make two smaller G launchers. There might be a market for the "plumper" Eagle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the SL2400 Eagle had its measurements increased about 50% over the old mini, which became the Snipe mini. So a 3788 Eagle mini is automatically a 1/2500 Snipe model.

So many companies have made so many warbirds over the years it's anybody's guess what any given one is.

A decade ago, more than that, we sat down to have a new war eagle made and had a whole box of warbird minis from different sources. They were all different sizes, and nobody had a clue which ones came from TFG, Casiano, FASA, or other less identified sources. We couldn't even tell which one we legally owned and had to have a totally new one made.

When we get to the point of doing our new one for Shapeways, Will is going to start over from scratch scaling them by his cubic volume methodology.
