Nice but I think the double stack fromm the 2500 might look cooler. Nice work though. _________________ -Dal

If your program lets you measure to exact scale, can you please PM me the dimensions of the hanger modules? Thanks! _________________ Garth L. Getgen

That would be cool, as I like that design too, but from the rules, it was determined while mobile it would never have 4 pods, just 2 and then maybe the augments attached while in transit. But maybe it could be a new type of base!

I don't really work in scale when I design stuff, unless I'm using actual blueprints for something. Mostly I just eyeball designs, so in reality the pods in my design could be longer or shorter than what ADB has already done with their minis. _________________

Cargo pods are, what, 20 meters in diameter, if memory serves. Can you take a wag based off that? Thanks. _________________ Garth L. Getgen

Seems to remember 30m (ten decks 3m per deck), not 20m, but easy for somebody to look up. I'm just kinda pressed for time. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

The original tech manual pods were 40m diameter x 200m long.

That was the source. Things have evolved since. There's been mentions of shorter pods, smaller diameter (military?) pods. All freighter minis (including those modeled by Mongoose) used a pod that was smaller than the "scale" pod on the plastic Zochi Fed freighter. _________________

Can you please post (or e-mail me) a copy of the OAL in a direct top-down plane view? Thanks! _________________ Garth L. Getgen

Okay, so Scharwenka was kind enough to send me the top-plane view of the OAL. I printed it out and measured it to calculate the size of the hanger modules.
Allowing for some (a lot) of artistic license, with the stated goal of making it fit on the Federation police cutter to build the carrier, what I came up with is:
From outside tip to outside tip: 80 meters
From inside tip to inside tip: 60 meters
From inside arc to outside arc: 27.5 meters
Total width from line joining inside tips to outside edge: 33.5 meters
Radius of inside arc: 82.5 meter
Radius of outside arc: 110 meter
Angle of arcs: ~43 deg
Given that the cutter is only 108 meters long, not including warp drive (130 total), and 27.5 meters wide, these things are HUGE but will actually fit on the ship. I should be able to upload a few images soon, but not today. _________________ Garth L. Getgen

SVC's most-recent line art for the PolCV (in the Fed Master Starship Book) had the hanger modules looking pretty gigantic on the Pol hull. _________________

Oh, yes, thanks for that, Will. I just looked that up ... it's much smaller than the above OAL module. From the tip of the nose to the front of the cylinder, the POL's forward hull section (in my deck plans) is 48 meters. The side edge is 30 meters.
When I try to scale the hanger module down to match the clipart, I get something that's 36 meters tip-to-tip inside arc and 48 on the outside arc. It's also only about 16-18 meters wide. That may sound like a lot of room ... until you try to cram six fighters in it, not to mention a tractor beam and two cargo boxes full of drones. _________________ Garth L. Getgen
