IIRC it has more in common with the NCL than DW. _________________ -Dal

ah ok, huh seems a bit large but then again they made a scout out of the NCA so I could see the NCL being a DDX. by any changes is there any type of pic of the DDX? i'm just wondering how much of the NCL hull is stock and what it would look like. sadly the pic in the master ship book dosn't have a lot of detail. |

The only art I've seen for the DDX is the view in the Federation Master Starship book.
As Dal notes, the DDX fluff text implies that it had family ties to the NCL and to me the art reflects that.
The fluff text for the NCL says it was built to supplant the Saladin-class "lollipop" DD. The DD, being a kitbash of CA parts, was always too big and really more of an anemic CL. The NCL used the DD saucer and added things to it, so they could be built in the DD shipyards.
It would follow that the DDX might use the same basic hull design as its basis, as the medium-sized ship, for medium-sized missions.
The DW was built using some elements from the FF and was size-restricted from the kind of long-term growth a non-wartime design would expect. Given how cramped they must have been, nobody would want to serve "5 year mission" type exploration patrols on them. _________________

My DDX minis were made using the old style, 2-piece NCL.
The saucer came straight from the NCL and the engines were scratch built. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro
