Quote: | It may be worth noting that the "five-year mission" took place from 2554 to 2559, which places it within the bounds of the Middle Years, as portrayed in FC courtesy of Briefing #2 |
Looks like I'll have to pick up Briefing #2 so I can create a middle years version of the scenario.
I think I might go with 2 kestrals and 1 war eagle to match the remastered version.
As for the NZ size, I may have to fake it. I don't have enough map panels to cover 47 billion hexes!
Thanks everyone for your input. |

If the width of the Neutral Zone bothers you, just assume the incident occurs IN the Neutral Zone.
Also, depending on exactly when in the sequence of events you want to start the action, have the CA start within five hexes of the Rom squadron leader ship, but have the other two Roms farther back. Then the CA's path to escape would have to go the same direction as the other two Rom ships, insuring at least some major action before it becomes a chase and catch situation.
The transport could have occurred just before your scenario starts.
Don't discount the element of surprise. The CA may be able to do something before the Roms react (just like in the episode).
I wrote a story in which the XO beamed aboard his ship "just in time" but did not show up on the bridge while immediate action was occurring. He would not have had time to get there (30 sec - 1 min).
Doesn't quite a bit happen AFTER the XO beams aboard with the Rom commander before the CA starts its escape? _________________ Mike

Sandpaper gets the job done, but makes for a lot of friction. |
