One additional thought on the subject of carronade tactics. Watch. Your. Distance. Carronades have a fairly limited range, and because they never miss, you can do some useful amount of damage at the maximum range of 5. Remember, however, that the enemy's weapons don't work the same way. When it comes to the damage he can inflict on you, there could be a big difference between range 1 and range 5. Get too close, and the enemy may suddenly inflict decisive damage on you, whereas if you had stayed a couple of hexes farther away, you could still have killed him and taken a lot less damage yourself. This is not to say that you have to remain at range 5 in every case, but you do need to consider the risks of getting closer in every case. There may be good reasons to close in, and depending on the target aspect and his weapon arcs the risk of closing may be minimal. But be aware of the risk, and act accordingly. _________________ "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away" - Philip K Dick |
